Comfort Freeman : ウィキペディア英語版 | Comfort Freeman Comfort M. Freeman is a peace activist in Liberia. She is head of the Liberian Women's Initiative for Peace, an anti-war women's group and the Lutheran Church Women's Committee. She also was part of a delegation of church leaders who visited the United States in March 2003. Together with Leymah Gbowee, she organized the Women in Peacebuilding Network (WIPNET), which joined forces with the Liberian Muslim Women's Organization to form the Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace. They became a political force against violence and against their government during the Second Liberian Civil War.〔(Guideposts review )〕 As a result, the women were able to achieve peace in Liberia after a 14-year civil war and later helped bring to power the country's first female head of state, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. ==See also==
